A Stitching Bee

PURPOSE

The goal of this group is to provide a friendly atmosphere where we can all share in the pleasure of stitching, as well as, help each other with a technique or a project; and, of course, provide an appreciative audience to show off our finished designs.

Come join us and have fun getting to know people who have the same passion as you do.

We are a socially-based group that brings together people to share their passion for yarn, needles, and hooks, ranging from beginners to experienced. We are very happy to include all kinds of textile art to our stitching bee.

HISTORY

A Stitching Bee stitching group was started by me, Cathy Evans. My main interest was to start a cross-stitch/embroidery group as I couldn't find one in the area. The group is open to all needle crafters. I think we all have something to share & something to learn from each other. The first meeting of "A Stitching Bee" was at Coates Recreation Center on Saturday, June 20, 2009. There were two ladies present, Cathy Evans and Kathy Coston. July & August Cathy & Kathy stitched. September, 2009, the location was changed to Hobby Lobby. As of August, 2010, our personal lives changed, so now we meet on Saturday or Sunday at various times & locations.
